Late C17 with alterations. 2 storeys and attic with skylight. Lined and
painted stucco with rusticated quoins and old tiled roof. Moulded wood
eaves. 3 sash windows with moulded architraves and glazing bars. 2 shop
fronts to ground floor with wood cases with pilasters and continuous
entablature. First floor of No 56 has section of tongue and groove boarding
on south wall of rear room, painted to simulate walnut fielded panelling.
One-storey rear extension with two-seater lavatory. Two-storey block to
rear of this: brick with pantiled roof: Sliding sashes with glazing bars
on ground floor and continuous industrial window on first floor with glazing
bars.
