Cottage row. C15 and altered and extended late C16 and late C19/ early C20.
Timber framed and part exposed with plaster infill, and underbuilt with red and
blue brick. Plain tiled roof. Two 2 bay sections; hall house origin. Two
storeys, the ground floor clad with brick, with left hand section projecting,
with panelled frame and half-hipped roof. Right hand section with close-
studding and gabled roof of steeper pitch. Stacks to left in front of ridge, to
rear centre right and fine projecting and offset C16 stack with clustered flues
at end right. Four wooden casements on 1st floor with mullioned window to
centre right. Three segmentally headed 3 light wooden casements on ground floor
and central casement. Three panelled doors. Igglesden (vol 16, 1923) reports
soot-blackened louvre in roof and moulded door frame.
