Mediaeval and later. 2 storeys painted brick with Victorian gable, 1 sash
with glazing bars intact set in moulded architrave. Modern shopfront. Rear
elevation is 3 storeys tile-hung. 2 sashes with verticals only. Ground
floor has 1 canted bay and 1 double hung sash.

Nos 1 to 9 (consec) and Nos 38 to 44 (consec) Burgate together
with Nos 1 to 8A (consec) and Nos 10 to 16 Mercery Lane form a group.
