C15 wealden hall house recently restored and the hall opened up again. Two storeys,
timber framed with plaster infill. The first floor of the end window bays oversails
on brackets. Exposed curved braces. The eaves between have their timber-framing
exposed and a cove and oversail on curved braces. Two casement windows and restored
full height hall window with diamond shaped mullions. Hipped tiled roof with
smoke louvres. C16 outside chimneystack to east elevation. C16 doorcase with
spandrels. The interior contains the original service screen, crown post roof,
an embattled beam to the solar end and a C16 stone fireplace to the hall which
was ceiled over with chamfered beams in the C16. A good example of a Wealden
House.
