House and possibly shop. Early C18, possibly with earlier core.
Red brick with occasional grey headers in Flemish bond. Plain
tile roof. Double depth. Front section on ground floor divided
into one large room with narrow room to right. Rear section
probably one room, with stairs partitioned off against left wall
and stack to right. 2 storeys, attic and cellar. Roof of front
section half-hipped to left. Rear elevation has 2 adjacent
hips. Rear brick stack to right. Central gabled dormer. Regular
3-window front of glazing-bar sashes. 3-light late C19 shop window
to left of ground floor. Recessed central door of 4 fielded and
2 flush panels, with panelled architrave, up 4 steps. Doorcase
with pilasters with narrow sunk panels bearing flat bracketted
hood. Rear elevation has central door with flush panels and flat
bracketted hood, up 4 steps, with railing to one side. Interior:
Plain C18 sunk panelling to ground floor. Front right-hand
room on ground floor also has shutters, dado rail and moulded
cornice. Iron grates. Side purlin roof. Rear section slightly
lower than front, with wall-plates morticed for studs.
