House, now house row. C15, with C18 alterations. Timber framed,
ground floor painted brick, first floor channeled stucco. Plain
tile roof. Wealden, of which only storeyed right end bay and right
bay of open hall remain. Left bay of open hall rebuilt in early
C18 to resemble underbuilt jettied right end bay possibly using
remains of inner and flying wall-plates to form cavity wall.
2 storeys on stone plinth. Right end bay formerly jettied; bracket
visible. Plain bracket beneath central tie beam of hall now at
left end of recess. Steeply pitched hipped roof with gablets.
Projecting brick stack to rear end of left side elevation and another
to front of right side elevation. Stack to rear of right bay
of hall. Irregular fenestration of 2 ovolo-moulded mullioned
casements; one of 4 lights to recess and one of 2 lights to right
end bay. Ground floor has similar 4-light casement to recess and
2-light casement to each end bay. Half-glazed and panelled door to
right end of recess. Later rear lean-to. Interior: Hollow-
chamfered central hall posts with moulded braces and moulded crown
post. Ogee braces to right end of hall partition. Exposed timbers.
Inglenook to rear wall of right hall bay.
