Barn and cow house. Late C17 or early C18 with C18 alterations and additions.
Stone rubble with slate roof. 5-bay barn with C18 4-bay extension to north,
which has 1st floor open-fronted gallery over cow house. Tie beam trusses; 2
are later replacements. Entrance to barn in north gable end. Through passage
to south of cow house. Gallery has stone stair to north, the southern bay is
enclosed with plastered panels; plank and muntin partition to barn. Rear has
2 C20 additions of no special interest. Property of The National Trust, the
gift of Beatrix Potter.
