Milestone. Probably 1793 for Carlisle-Longtown Turnpike. Whitewashed sandstone.
Rounded-top stone has circular recess on front for cast plate now missing. Has
instead black painted lettering CARLISLE 5 MILES. Bench mark and stud on top.
