North Lodge to former Rickerby House, now Eden School. Circa 1835, for George
Head Head. Calciferous sandstone ashlar walls, bitumen clad roof and ashlar
chimney stack. Single storey, 2 bays. Doric tetrastyle temple front and rear
porticos: entablature complete with triglyphs, metopes and guttae: pediment
has carved armorial bearings in tympanum with motto: STUDY QUIET (that of
George H. Head): entrance has squared pilaster strips and 6-panel door:
windows have moulded surrounds and sashes. C20 kitchen extension to left with
cement-render walls.
