9/72 Leigh Cottage

GV II

Former bakery, now detached house. C18 or early C19. Random
rubble limestone with dressed quoins; blue brick chimney; plain
tile roof. Single-storey with attic; long plan with gable end
chimney at back. Front gable: off-centre doorway with plank door
and timber casement to left both under a large timber lintel from
former shop front; stone drip mould above lintel and single timber
casement to attic. Scattered fenestration to sides: mostly
timber casements and timber lintels; one window in south wall with
small-paned horizontal sliding sash. North wall projects with
catslide roof over. Included for group value as this building
completes the tight grouping around Duntisbourne Leer ford.
