Probably early-mid C19 remodelling of possibly late mediaeval origin. About
10 x 18 ft with pool about 6 x 12 ft. Rectangular verge with paved edge, rectangular
wall against bank with cast iron spout. Steps to left. There were 3 reliable water
sources for Stow and this, the most reliable, was less used than the wells (the
White and Red Pumps) on the Broadwell side which were closer to the town centre.
