A mid C19 terrace, not uniform. 3 storeys and basement stock brick, Nos 55, and
57 stuccoed. No 55 rendered. Parapet. Mainly moulded eaves cornice. 2 sashes
to each with glazing bars intact. Nos 56 and 57 have moulded Italianate architraves
with cornices and brackets to the 1st floor windows and cast iron balconettes.
Nos 56 and 57 have rusticated ground floors. Round-headed windows to ground floors.
Simple round-headed doorcases to Nos 58 and 59. Nos 56 and 57 have doorcases
with cornices and pilasters. No 55 has a simple moulded surround. Cast iron
balconettes to ground floor of Nos 56 and 57. Some cast iron railings and steps
to street.

Nos 38 to 59 consec) and the Emmanuel Baptist Church form a group. (The Emmanuel
Baptist Church is a local interest building).
