Gardener's house to Panshanger Estate. Early C18, re-roofed and extended
early to mid C19. Probably built for the 1st Earl Cowper when the house
was nearby at Cole Green Park. Red brick. Hipped slate roof. 3 broad
bays. 2 storeys. Central entrance: 4 panelled door with upper panels
fielded, rectangular fanlight, gabled and trellised porch. 16 pane
recessed sashes with stone sills, ground floor cambered heads. Plat
band. Dentilled brick eaves. 2 cross axial ridge stacks flank central
bay. 1 bay returns. To rear a gabled C19 wing to centre with an end
stack, 2 light casements, openings on main range all blocked except
ground floor right. Left end lean-to outshut, external stack and
rendered return. Interior not inspected.
