west.

Remains of outer gatehouse and attached wall, and freestanding wall
to west. Gatehouse of C14. Pink and grey Severn sandstone,
coursed for walls, with dressed stone for arches of gatehouse.
Gatehouse is small square with double moulded wide pointed archway
to north and south and 4 castellations over. No roof remaining.
Wall varies between about 4 and 6.5m in height, and total width
from west to east is about 150m, embattled to west, then stepped
attached to gatehouse and embattled to far east.
