14/237 Chancel arch and section of north
wall to former Church of St. Mary


GV II

Two sections of wall to former Church of St. Mary. C12 chancel
arch; C14 window in fragment of north wall. Random rubble and
dressed limestone. Round chancel arch with 2 attached orders,
outer with scalloped capitals, inner with cushion capitals.
Decorative moulding to imposts. C19 weathered coping added to top
of chancel arch wall. Section of north nave wall contains C14 2-
light window with Decorated tracery and C12 square-headed
north doorway. Remainder of church demolished upon completion of
new Church of St. Mary (q.v.).
