GV II

Two attached houses. Late C17; mid C18 addition. Random rubble
limestone; brick and artificial stone rebuilt chimneys; stone
slate roof. Two-storey with attic. Front: C17 part to right
with full gable is Pendle Cottage with 3-light chamfered mullioned
casements to ground and upper floor; 2-light to attic in gable.
Doorway with timber lintel to left with iron casement over.
Cobbler's Cottage to left appears later with 2-window timber
casement fenestration including 2 eaves-mounted gabled roof dormers
with C20 casement. Central C20 gabled porch addition. Brick
ridge-mounted chimney at junction between 2 houses. North end:
blocked doorway with timber lintel; timber casement to attic with
timber lintel. Rear: gable to left with lean-to. Flat-roofed
addition is not of special interest. Interior not inspected.
