Description

SO 70 SW SLIMBRIDGE BRISTOL ROAD
1/67 (west side)
Cambridge

The George

II

Coaching House now Inn. C18. Brick, with brick projecting quoins to front wall only
and modillion brick cornice concrete tile roof. Lofty and compact original block with
stack to right gable, wings both sides, and deep C20 back projection. Three storeys,
2-windowed: second floor 2-light casements, first floor sashes with glazing bars,
ground floor modern pair galzed doors, left, central sash with glazing bars, and
canted, bay.

The walls were probably rendered originally. This was probably a coaching inn
benefitting from its location directly on the Gloucester to Bristol road, now the A38.
