Capp Mill cottage
GV II
Cottage, formerly mill. C17 with C19 and C20 modifications. Large squared
limestone block to gables and ground floor, timber frame fill to first floor,
front; steep stone slate roof, but concrete slate to back. The original mill
structure, built against the river embankment at the back. Front is two storeys
and attic, 2-windowed. At ground floor a central plank door to deep stone
lintel, flanked by 2-light chamfer-mullion stone casements, all to a worn
stepped continuous hood mould. First floor has three 2-light wood C20 case-
ments, and two large 2-light gabled dormers over. Left gable has 2-light to
attic, over 3-light and blank ground floor; right gable has door at first floor
to wood lintel.
