Barn and shelter shed c18m north of Middle Farmhouse

Barn. Late C17-early C18. Shelter shed C19. Square-panelled
timber framing with red brick infill; part of rear wall
weatherboarded; some minor rebuilding in red brick; limestone
plinth; red tile roof. Shelter shed brick with red tile roof.
Rectangular plan to barn with later shelter shed at the west gable
end and lean to at the east end. Double plank doors off-centre
left on south side; smaller double plank doors far right; wide
single-width plank door to the brick-built part to the left.
Pitching windows to gable ends. Open-fronted shelter shed with 6
open bays separated by timber uprights on limestone padstones;
manger with brick-built front to rear. Barn interior: 4 bays.
East bay formerly partitioned off. Flagged threshing floor.
Original roof trusses comprising tie beams with straight braces and
collar beam; double purlins.
