16/50 The Dovecote
GV II
Former dovecote, now house. C17 and C20. coursed squared and dressed limestone with large squared and dressed quoins; artificial stone slate roof. Rectangular plan. Sympathetic C20 extension not of special interest. Three-windowed north front lit by single-light and 2-light C20 stone-mullioned casements; double- width opening, now infilled, with C20 glazing with vertical glazing bars. Tall plank door with a segmental brick head to the north- west gable end. Single tall stairlight and two further single- light windows with artificial stone surrounds and three skylights to the south front. Flat coping with roll-cross saddles to the gable ends. Entry via C20 plank door in C20 extension. Interior: substantial number of pigeonholes retained.
