Undershot mill. C18. Flemish bond red brick on a dressed limestone plinth; corrugated asbestos roof. Rectangular plan with extension under which the mill stream runs at the east gable end. Two-windowed north front with two gablets. Three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement, lower left; two matching 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements to the first and second floors respectively; single-light casements with double-chamfered surrounds to each gablet; double plank doorway within a flat-chamfered dressed limestone surround with alternate jambs. Stone steps on a brick base at the right gable end giving access to the first floor via a plank door with a dressed stone surround of side alternate jambs; 2-light double-chamfered stone- mullioned casement to the attic; triangular arrangement of pigeon holes and landings above; two 2-light stone-mullioned casements and a triangular arrangement of pigeon holes at the opposite gable end. All windows with horizontal glazing bars, hopper at centre of the rear elevation. Single-storey wheel house to the left gable end with double plank doors. Interior: undershot cast iron mill wheel 2.5m across; wooden gear wheels and chutes within mill; two grindstones in situ; grain bins in situ in attic. Hipped roof to wheel house. Roof of wheel house in state of collapse and most windows lighting mill building broken at the time of resurvey (March 1987).
