The Thatched Cottage

Detached house. Probably mid C17-early C18. Timber framing now
rendered; coursed squared and dressed limestone; plinth visible
at gable end facing the road; thatched roof with decorative ridge
thatching; red tile roof to extension; brick stacks.
Rectangular plan with later extension at right angles to rear. l½
storeys. Two-windowed south front; 3 segmental C19 three-light
windows with C20 shutters to the ground floor; two 2-light eyebrow
dormers, one C19, to the first floor; timber wall plate visible
below these windows. Two-light segmental-headed casement to the
gable end facing the road at first floor level. C20 raking dormer
with two C20 two-light casements to the north-facing elevation.
Lateral and projecting stacks. Half hip to gable end facing road.
