of Full of Elms
II
Barn. Early C17. Weatherboarded close-studded timber framing on
a squared and dressed limestone sill wall. Roman tile roof
probably replacing thatch. Rectangular plan with an open-fronted
shelter shed at the north-east corner. Lean to extensions on all
sides of the barn, except the shelter shed, not of special
interest. Barn: large double plank doors at the centre of the
south-east side; smaller double plank doors to the wall opposite.
Interior: 3 bays with the original roof trusses comprising tie
beam with straight braces; raking struts and collar beam. The
open-fronted shelter-shed retains its original mangers.
