STANWAY WOOD STANWAY SP 03 SE 4/134 Barn about 28m north of Thriftwood Farmhouse (formerly listed as part 4.7.60 of Thriftwood Farmhouse and Barn to north) GV II Barn. 1762 for GHRS (datestone), Coursed, squared stone; stone slate roof. Four-bay barn. Gable to road, blocked doorway on left, timber lintel; triangular air vent on right, line of 4 above and one in gable, datestone over. Parapet gable, iron weathervane. Right return, towards house: 6 triangular air-vents in 2 rows, wide double boarded doors covered corrugated iron, timber lintel. One air vent in wall to right, parapet gable. Projecting wing on right not of special interest. Interior: tie beam truss, to road side of threshing floor, queen struts, 2 pairs purlins with plank ridge: long wind braces from wall plate to upper purlins over threshing floor. Barn full at time of survey (1986) so otherwise not inspected inside. Forms group with house (q.v.).
