8/12 War Memorial

GV II

War memorial. Early C20 by Gething & Co, Salisbury. Chilmark stone.
5 octagonal steps up to square plinth with spurs. Shaft starts with square
section, becoming octagonal with capital surmounted by octagonal cross. Around
4 stone pillars with rounded tops originally inscribed with all those who served
in war. All on traffic island.
