3/22 The Post House
GV II
House. Late C18, early and late C19, with minor C20 changes. Brindle brick
walls in header bond with flush red dressings (indicating the 1st pattern of
fenestration), 1st floor band, plinth, and a cambered opening to the ground-
floor. Plain tile roof. the north front was once symmetrical of 2 storeys,
5 windows, but was changed to 3 windows in the C19, and extended by 1 (upper)
window to the east side in the late C19. Victorian casements: one large C20
bow window replacing a former projecting shopfront. Doorway with moulded
canopy, and panelled door. The rear has a single-storeyed wing (former bakery)
at the west side, and a 2-storeyed wing at the east side.
