7/1 The Thatched Cottage

Cottage, formerly a pair. C18, with C20 restoration and exterior. Stone and
brick walls, with a thatched roof. Symmetrical front (south) of 1 storey and
attic, 2 above 4 windows, with outshots at each side. Roof ½-hipped at the
east end, above a tiled outshot, hipped at the west and brought to a low eaves
above the outshot, wide eyebrow dormers. The west side has malmstone rubble
walls with brick dressings, the east being red brickwork in Flemish bond,
cambered openings to the ground floor (former doorways now windows), stone walls,
to the east side outshot, boarding to the west. Casements. Door in a plain
recess at the east side.
