SU 74 SE BENTLEY LOWER FROYLE

4/21 Stable Block, 10 metres
north west of Coldrey
Farm.

GV II

Stables, store and cartshed. c1700, early and mid C19. Brick walls and slate
roof. A rectangular block, the eastern half of the south front being the
earliest unit, with a window on either side of a central doorway, Flemish bond
walling with blue headers, 1st floor band, cambered openings, and plinth. The
western half (early C19) has a hay-loft door and 3 ground floor stable doors,
Flemish bond, plinth. The rear is a narrower block (mid C19) with an upper
floor and cartshed openings to most of the ground floor. The double pile roof,
of different pitches, is of slate, hipped at the west end.
