SU 72 SW BURITON NORTH LANE

3/14 Nursted House

16.3.54 II

House. Early C18, with late C19 minor extensions. Walls of ashlar malmstone,
with stone plinth moulding, plain eared architraves, and coping to parapet:
rusticated brick quoins, brick dentilled cornice: some C19 walls of brickwork.
Hipped slate roof. Symmetrical east front of two storeys and attic, 2.3.2
windows, with pediment above the slightly-projecting centrepiece. Sashes:
casements to flat-roofed dormers. Wood Doric doorcase, with pediment, mutule
boxes, triglyphs, plain ¾ columns, six panelled door, above a short flight of
steps. The rear elevation is irregular, with a north side projection, cemented
walls, and a round-headed staircase window. Interior : plain classical features,
including a C18 fireplace and a plain staircase.
