II Cottages)
Pair of cottages. C17, C18, modernised mid C20. Colour washed timber-frame
with brick infill, brick rendered, roofs thatched and slated. 2 bay C17
house. Griffins, with large external stack at left now incorporated into
added C18 3 window range cottage, with wing at rear. C20 bay added to right
end. 1½ storeys on plinth, 5 bayed. C17 cottage has exposed timber-frame
with butt ends of joists in left bay with C20 leaded windows. To left C18
building has off-centre door under C20 gabled timber porch and C19 2-light
camber headed casements with glazing bars. Each bay has an eyebrow dormer
with C19 & C20 2-light casements with glazing bars or leaded lights. C20
2 storey bay has 2 ground floor windows. Roof half-hipped with stacks at
either end of C17 building and at centre of C18 building. Roof to C20 bay
slated. To rear is thatched, timber-framed outshot.
