Malthouse, now used as a craft centre. Early and mid C19, with C20 adaptation.
Walls of brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall bond with blue headers, pointed 'Tudor'
arched openings, some patternwork in blue headers, brick dentil eaves. Slate
roof, hipped to the main parts. Symmetrical north front of three storeys, with a
window on each side of a central (hoist) doorway at 1st and 2nd floor levels, 2
carriage arches to the ground-floor, with outshot at the west side having two
small windows above a doorway. Old industrial casements. To the rear is attached
a narrow three-storeyed block, with its short end facing Brook Street (west),
the corner area being filled with entrance structures below a slate roof. Minor
alterations have been made within the building, leaving the exterior virtually
unaltered.
