SU 4225 HURSLEY PORT LANE

10/17 Nos. 55 and 56 (The Old
Audit House)

GV II

House and office, now single dwelling. Late C18. Chequer brickwork, old
plain tile roof. 2-storey, L-shaped with 3 bays on Port Lane, rounded corner
bay and one bay on Collins Lane. Building has plinth, and plain pilaster
between each bay. Front has open central segmental archway with inside door
on left to house on right to office. In front wrought-iron gate. Left bay
has 3-light segmental head opening on each floor and one above door. Right
bay has blind openings. Rounded corner has full height round-headed window.
All openings have rubbed brick arches and stone sills. Roof hipped with small
triangular face above corner bay. Stack on left hip.
