House. Mid C17. Rebuilt late C19 as a shop with domestic
accommodation. Brick. Pantiled roof. 3 storeys (formerly 4);
2-window range. Upper floor removed in 1950s. Late C20
plate-glass shop front extends through Nos 3 & 4 (qv). First
floor with 2 unhorned sashes with 6/6 glazing bars and gauged
skewback arches. 2 similar second-floor windows. Parapet
rebuilt 1990. Gabled roof. Rear with a 2-storeyed rendered
cross-wing, in entrant angle of which is 3 storeys of a
formerly 5-storey look-out tower: early C18, octagonal, with
late C20 windows.
INTERIOR: very much altered in C20. Interior of tower with a
circular centre newel rising from a fluted base. C17 cellars
remain, somewhat altered.
