Small house. Late C17 with 1980s repair and renovation. Whitewashed, rendered and
plastered, the front wall rebuilt in brick (probably in the C19) to the left of the
front door, right end wall stone rubble, rear wall cob on stone footings (information
from owner); thatched roof, hipped at ends; left end stack.
Plan: Single depth plan, originally 2 rooms wide (partition between the rooms
removed) with a principal heated room to the left and an unheated service room at the
right end. A C20 flat-roofed extension has been added at the right end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front with a slight change of plane on
the front at the left. C20 porch to right of centre with a C20 front door. 2 and 3-
light C19 or C20 timber casements with glazing bars.
Interior: Chamfered scroll-stopped cross beam to left hand room, re-built fireplace
with a timber lintel. Stair with a winder and straight flight in the rear right hand
corner of the house.
Roof: Pegged A-frame trusses, but the principals may be pegged into wall posts and
could be late C17.
