Farmhouse. Probably late C17 to early C18. Timber-frame, sandstone rubble
plinth and stacks with brick shaft, hipped slate roof. T-plan with head facing
south-west. Cellar and two storeys. South-west, cross-wing elevation has four
windows, late C19 wooden casements regularly spaced apart from second window
from left on first floor which is dropped, presumably for staircase; left half
is exposed timber-framing six panels high from plinth to wall-plate, right
half is rendered around external stack; two-window single-storey extension to
left hand side. Circa 1900 door to south-east side of main range adjacent
to junction with cross-wing. (RCHM Vol II, p 154-5).
