Eau Withington House
plus terrace and railings
to south


House. Mid- to late C18. Red brick with hipped gambrel slate roof and end
chimneys. Two storeys on rubble cellar, attics to rear; dentilled eaves
cornice; three windows,- 4-pane C19 sashes under brick flat arches. Central
doorcase with plain pilasters and moulded cornice broken foward over pilasters;
half-glazed door; above is a Sun Fire insurance mark (number 664965). Coursed
and squared rubble terrace before house approached by double flight of steps
axial with doorway and with segment-headed opening to right; good quality
cast iron anthemion and Catherine-wheel pattern panels between fleur-de-lis
capped standards with narrow trefoil-headed panels. Link to right hand to
