5/68 Box Tree Cottage

House. C15 or C16 with C17 added wing, altered C19 and C20. Timber-
framed with part wattle-and-daub, and part painted brick infill, sandstone
plinth, brick refacing to added wing, C20 tiled roof. Single bay earlier
wing aligned east/west with cross-wing to east, central entrance, possibly
with through-passage backing onto stack. Single storey and attic; south
front, C20 flat-roofed dormer with 2-light window, 2-light C20 casement
window to gable end of wing, lean-to canopy to entrance with ledged door.
Framing, earlier wing retains two cruck trusses with inserted floor, altered
square panelled framing formerly two and three square panels from sill to
wall-plate, C20 surface timbering to west gable end.
