First floor chamber above has smaller brick fireplace with dressed stone lintel and remains of early C17 wall paintings, comprising three painted plaster panels on south wall, continued over timber frame and remains of painted decoration on frame of opposite wall; depicting rural scene with figures harvesting grapes, vines on trellis and animals, including a jumping fox, a coiled snake and birds; possibly scenes from Aesop's Fables or the Bible, or of grape harvesting. C18 fielded 2-panel door between two first floor rooms. 2-bay roof with broad gable at front; collar and tie-beam trusses with V-struts above end collars, centre truss has higher collar with integral door frame below; chamfered tenoned purlins and straight wind-braces, diagonal ridgepiece and common-rafters mostly intact.
