2 adjacent barns. N barn C16, E barn C19. Timber frames on brick sills,
dark weatherboarded with steep old red tile roofs. An L-shaped range of
unaisled barns, the N barn probably of 5 bays faces S into a covered
yard. Adjoining its E gable the E barn, probably of 3 bays, faces E with
a projecting gabled porch with double doors in the middle of the E side.
N barn has heavy timbering with jowled posts, mid-height rail tenoned
in-line, straight braces to tie-beams and wallplates. Slightly
double-curved wind braces to one purlin in each slope. Clasped purlin
and inclined queen-post trusses without collar except in end truss.
Undiminished principals. Squint-butted scarf joint with 2 edge pegs, in
rear wallplate. 2 purlins to each slope in E barn.
