Early C17 red brick wall, formerly to Theobalds Palace, altered
on E side in C18. About 210 metres long, averaging two and a
half metres high. Thicker lower two thirds of wall with sloped
coping and moulded brick plinth. Buttressed upper part. Round
bastion on W end. Wall breaks forward two thirds towards E in
C18 cast iron railings with square end piers. C18 portion at E
end in softer red brick with 4 sunken panels.
