1907 by J Myrtle Smith. Good example of Wren revival. 1965
projecting side wings in same style and materials. Red brick,
stone dressings. Gabled centre block has ground floor Roman
Doric loggia with 2 columns, curved interior walls and niches in
side walls. Upper floor arched, leaded window set in coved arch
and having pedestal carved with armorial plaque, fruit swags and
winged cherubs. Open pediment cornice with paired mutules.
Hexagonal cupola with ogee copper dome and wrought iron
weathervane. Mullioned and transomed ground floor casements,
repeated in 4-window extensions.
