5/174 Yearsley monument in churchyard,
about 9m south of south-east corner
of south aisle, Church of St. John
the Baptist


GV II

Pedestal tomb; 1817; stone. Moulded edge to lid, slight step to
flat cyma moulded centre. Leaf frieze below: slightly raised oval
panels to sides, with oval paterae in corners: elongated quarter-
square balusters to corners: moulded top to plinth. Some italic
lettering in inscription. Commemorates Stephen Yearsley, died
1817, one son died 1805, various other inscriptions to late C19.
