8/306 Hop kiln, stables and
cow house about 20 metres
north of Worsley House

GV II

Hop kiln, stables and cow house. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Random
and coursed rubble with brick dressings and tile roof. Aligned north-east/
south-west; hop kiln to south-east possibly originally a cow house, stables
to centre, cow house to north-east. Hop kiln: roof raised with brick to top
of wall and slate roof, flat top to form ventilator; two storeys: two windows:
fixed casements; ground floor: shuttered window to left, and two entrances
with plain wooden architraves and ledged and boarded doors, all under segmental
heads. Interior: four complete hop kilns; stables: two shuttered windows, each
to the left of a stable entrance, all under segmental heads; cow house: a
fixed casement and two cow entries. Included as a complete example for group
value.
