House. C16, C19 brick additions at NE. Timber frame cased in rendered
brickwork, frame exposed on gables. Steep red tile roofs. A 1½ storeys
house of 3 structural bays facing S with 3 large gabled dormers rising
through the eaves and lower brick ranges at E end and rear. 4 windows
long. 3-light flush casements with lattice leaded glazing. Large canted
bays at E and W ends. Posts and rails partially exposed internally on
ground floor with cross-beams and axial beams. Wall plate some 4ft above
floor level and 3 trusses with heavy curved braces to tie-beams (now cut
through). Weathered timbers on former E end of house. Mid-height rail in
rear (N) wall some 6ft from ground and 4ft below wallplate. (RCHM
