Country house. Early C19 (probably c1825 for Nathaniel Chauncy
Snell), enlarged to S. Buff brick with stucco band and reveals
and slate roofs. A compact double-pile 2-storeys block with
entrance on E next to bow fronted dining room link to N service
wing. Designed to give symmetrical elevations on S and W end. S
front to garden has projecting wings with wide bracketed eaves
forming an open pediment over each. Tall ground floor with
stucco band at 1st floor window sill level. Recessed sash
windows with stucco reveals, 3 in centre with 6/6 panes and
triple sash window on each floor in each wing. Central glazed
door with fanlight rising to level of flanking tall sash windows.
Flat gauged arches. Octagonal brick chimney shafts. E front has
an Ionic portico in antis.
