TL 23 SE WALLINGTON SHAW GREEN

House. Probably C15/early C16, extended C17 and much altered since.
Timber frame, roughcast with some ground floor brick facing, tiled roof.
Single ended open hall with cross wing at upper end. Now 2 storeys.
Scattered timber casements of 1, 2 and 3 lights. Timber porch to
entrance in slightly lower extension at lower end of hall on same axis.
Gablet in roof of this extension. 2 storey gabled staircase
projection on entrance front at upper end. Ridge stack at junction of
hall and cross wing. C20 extension on garden front not of special
interest. Interior: despite many alterations original cambered hollow
chamfered tie beam to, central open truss with hollow chamfered curved
braces still in place. Massive brick chimney breast and fireplaces
probably C17.
