Bakehouse and outbuilding. Early C17 taller building, with C18 brick
bakehouse attached on E. Timber frame on high brick sill with red brick
infill, red brick chequered with darker headers to bakehouse. Steep old
red tile roofs. Linked to house by covered way of 2 long parallel beams
carrying a pitched tiled roof. 2 outbuildings to N of house backing onto
moat and facing S. On W a 2-storeys framed building of 2 bays with stair
to cheese store on 1st floor, and semi basement 3 steps down in W bay
with shelving and dairy equipment. Jowled posts, clasped-purlin roof,
straight wind-braces, straight tension braces at corners. Central truss
with collar and struts. Much lower and narrower rectangular,
single-storey brick bakehouse adjoining on E, with large faggot oven set
centrally to rear of fireplace at E end. Ceiling under collars.
