House, now 2 houses. C17 or earlier, refronted in brick and divided for
Sowerby estate in C19. Timber frame cased in red brick with very steep
red tile roof. Roughcast S end. A 2-storeys, 3-cells, lobby-entry plan
house facing E, with large internal chimney a third from N end and stair
to rear of it. Later small internal S gable chimney in front slope. E
front has 4 windows to 1st floor and 3 to ground floor. Door to S part
(No. 80) between 2 windows. Heraldic badge of lion rampant on C19
plaque. 3-light casement windows under eaves, 2-lights over door by
chimney, 3-lights casement windows to ground floor and 2 plank doors.
Interior has axial beams, jowled posts and straight tension braces.
