TL 1821 ST PAUL'S WALDEN ST PAUL'S WALDEN BURY

12/205 North east barn at Bury Farm (formerly
27.5.68 listed as farmbuildings at St Paul's
Walden Bury)

GV II

Barn. Early C18, incorporating many chamfered floor timbers probably
from the Bury rebuilt in early C18. Timber frame dark weatherboarded
with pitched slate roof. A tall 5-bays barn facing S with gabled porch
projecting on S and rear outshut. Heavy jowled posts on S wall but
unjowled posts (re-used floor beams) on N wall. Unjowled mid-bay posts
and mid-height rail jointed in-line. Long curved braces to N wallplate
which has simple edge-halved scarf joints. Long straight braces to
cambered tie beams with trenches for passing braces above now missing.
Inclined queen-struts to roof.
