GV II

House. C17 or early C18, encased in late C19 with alterations and additions
of c1960. Timber frame encased in brick, with brick extension, colourwashed
throughout. Pantile roof. Rectangular on plan; 6 bays of timber frame;
3 rooms with lobby-entry to right of centre; single room addition and
outhouses to right. Single storey with attic, 3 windows. Padstones visible
at base of wall. Recessed board door with two 12-pane sliding sashes to
left beneath segmental brick arches; C20 casement to right with glazing
bars. C20 flat-roofed dormer with casement. Axial stack. Steeply-pitched
roof. Attic 12-pane sliding sash to left return. Interior: not fully
investigated: wall plates, tie beams, wall posts with mid-rails and curved
braces exposed in room to left.
